Peer Review Process

  1. Submission via the University of Tehran Electronic Journals System:
    • Articles must be submitted through the system.
    • After submission, the journal’s staff will review the article within three days to ensure compliance with the journal's author guidelines.
    • Tip: To expedite the review process, thoroughly review the author guidelines and format your article accordingly before submission.
  2. Preliminary Review by the Editor-in-Chief:
    • If the article passes the first stage, it undergoes an initial evaluation of content quality and relevance by the editor-in-chief, subject editor, and the scientific committee.
    • This stage typically takes 1–1.5 weeks.
  3. Preliminary Archiving:
    • If not approved, the corresponding author will be notified within one week.
    • If approved, the editor sends a letter to the author for initial corrections.
  4. Reviewer Assignment:
    • Assign reviewers and create a record of the article.
    • The article is sent to reviewers via the electronic journals system.
  5. Article Review Process:
    • Weekly status reports are provided to the editor-in-chief.
    • Weekly meetings are held with the editor-in-chief to address ambiguities in articles.
  6. Feedback and Revisions:
    • Reviewer feedback is sent to the corresponding author for necessary revisions.
    • After corrections, the article is sent to a final reviewer for approval.
  7. Editorial Board Approval:
    • Articles are placed in the "Ready for Board Review" section.
    • The editorial board meets every six months to review and finalize articles.
    • Authors of articles approved by the editorial board receive an acceptance letter.
  8. Editing and Layout:
    • Accepted articles are sent to the editorial team for editing via the electronic journals system.
    • Edited articles are forwarded to the layout designer through the system.
  9. Author Confirmation:
    • Authors receive the formatted articles for review within three days.
    • If there are discrepancies in names, credentials, or misplacement of tables/diagrams, authors must notify the system.
  10. Electronic Publication:
    • Articles are electronically published on the University of Tehran Electronic Journals System.
  11. Distribution to Indexing Databases:
    • Articles are automatically submitted to Magiran, SID, and ISC via the system.
    • The journal staff manually submits articles to Srlst.
